Teambuilding Retreats

Our Teambuilding Retreats program is designed to engage participants both mentally and physically to discover solutions to unique challenges. Participants discover behavior and attitudes that support success in a team setting. With this greater understanding, participants increase their contribution to their organization's success. Past participants include local non-profit groups, small businesses and large corporations, and church groups.

Most groups combine their teambuilding program with rental of the Horine Conference Center. This elegant 1940s-era manor house boasts seating for up to 30 participants, a state of the art multimedia system, fully equipped kitchen, den with fireplace, and additional conference rooms for breakaway meetings. Let the Conference Center serve as your team's "home base" during a teambuilding program -- providing an excellent site for a catered lunch, rest breaks, discussions, and shelter from inclement weather. Visit the Facilities page for a photo tour of the Conference Center.

Our programs offer a light-hearted, yet effective look at the issues that help and hinder teamwork. Depending on your time and interests, a program could include one or more of the following experiential learning techniques: indoor and outdoor simulations, facilitated discussion, our low ropes (teams) course, an Alpine climbing tower, and The Mini-Expedition - an exciting, outdoor rescue simulation. We are not a corporate "boot camp" and you will not find yourself dangling upside-down at the end of a rope wishing you were somewhere else. We take great care to design programs appropriate for our participants' abilities and goals.

In addition to general teambuilding , other themes that may be addressed are:

  • Leadership - Discover your organization's vision of a leader, recognize your strengths and weaknesses, and take action to improve.

  • Communication Skills - See your team in action as they learn their communication strengths and improve their skills.

  • Conflict – Take the Conflict Dynamics Profile ® assessment. The CDP-I is a short instrument that identifies workplace behaviors that contribute to constructive conflict resolution. The CDP-I comes with a development guide that offers practical tips for strengthening conflict management skills. Learn the theory, then practice the skills with our team challenges!

  • The New Team - Accelerate the building of productive relationships among new team members.

  • The Power of Fun - A light-hearted program of activities that will let you see your team members in a new light. Sometimes, relaxing and sharing an enjoyable experience with your co-workers is all the teambuilding you need.
